Why is a heel milling machine a good choice?

Metal graters can be used for foot care, and they had their period of popularity. However, they have a major drawback. Using them can significantly tug and irritate the skin, which definitely does not translate into safe care.  Moreover, with prolonged use, many metal graters may rust and become dull, which will be definitely dangerous for our feet.  An alternative is natural pumice stones. They certainly have an advantage over the mentioned graters. It must be admitted that pumice can effectively exfoliate the skin, but it requires a lot of force to use it. Moreover, it is quite a bulky thing and it is difficult to reach every place on the foot, eg between the toes. Please remember to wash and disinfect the pumice stone thoroughly after each use. This is important because we want to avoid various foot infections, including: mycosis. Cleaning pumice is not the easiest thing, mainly due to its rough surface.

If not a metal grater and pumice, an alternative is  a heel milling machine  – also called an electric file . It is a very safe and intuitive device to use. Before purchasing, it is worth paying attention to, among others: on:

  • Power supply type  – milling machines can be powered by a built-in battery or mains power. The first type provides us with high mobility of the device. The second means that we will always need power from a power socket. It is worth knowing that there are battery-powered heel grinders on the market.
  • Heads  – heel milling machines are equipped with heads or the so-called rolls. They contain particles of various abrasion classes. We will find, among others: coarse-grained, fine-grained or gently smoothing heads.
  • Lock function  – it is worth choosing milling machines with an automatic lock function. Its task is to protect the skin of our feet against excessive abrasion and other damage. The lock is activated when too strong pressure of the milling machine on the heel surface is felt.
  • Working time and charging time  – each cordless heel grinder offers a specific working time on one charge. Some models can work for about 60 minutes, others longer, eg 90. The charging time is also an important parameter, usually from 0 to 100 percent. We will charge the device in about 2-3 hours.

Additionally, it is worth paying attention to whether a given model of heel milling machine is resistant to contact with water.  There are also options on the market with a small display informing us, among others, about: about the battery condition .

How do heel milling machines work?

The use of  a heel milling machine  can easily be classified as a care treatment. First, it is worth soaking your feet in warm water and washing them with soap. This is to soften the epidermis.  After this activity, we should gently dry our feet with a towel . Then, depending on the model of our milling machine, we select the appropriate head and operating speed of the device. By performing slow, gentle circular movements, we begin the process of removing calloused epidermis from the feet. When you finish the treatment, it is worth moisturizing your heels properly, eg by slowly massaging the cream.

It is worth remembering to also take care of the milling machine.  Most often, we will need to rinse the heads under running water and leave the device to dry . It is also worth washing the head with a cotton pad soaked in spirit (or other cosmetic alcohol) every few uses.
